Aloha, I’m Kerstin! For as long as I can remember, the ocean has been my happy place, but I didn’t actually begin sailing or surfing until later in college. When I moved to Maui in 2010, sailing immediately became the focus of my life, and I knew I wanted to create a simple life on the water- searching out surf on a sailboat. I crewed and then captained sailboats and fun raft tours nearly every day out of Lahaina harbor until the end of 2016 when Brian and I sailed South beyond the horizon for an open-ended voyage onboard our 2nd boat, Sea Dragon.

Sailing into the unknown and spending 18 months immersed in the raw natural elements of the remote South Pacific had a profound affect on me. I have always considered myself mindful and aware of my surroundings, other people, and my impact on the planet, but voyaging life has raised the bar of awareness to a whole new level. I want to share this lifestyle with others in hopes that it inspires more awareness of our impact on the planet, more appreciation for the healing power of nature, and more passion to protect where we play.

Can’t wait to have you onboard!

Engineer/co-Captain:

A humbly self-made man, you will rarely hear Brian talking about himself, let alone his myriad successes. Therefore, we have been called forth to share his light with you (because we all know this bio is most likely last on his priority list… and he knows we’d eventually do it for him).

Brian is comprised of innate intelligence that spans far beyond this lifetime’s experience. His smile touches a part of your heart you didn’t even know existed. And his ability to optimally execute a task is on par with ancient zen ninja merman masters.

By honing in on a balanced equation of self-awareness and apprenticeship, Brian has acquired refined skills in the arenas of sailing & sail making, surfing and surfboard shaping, eating and galley galavanting (perhaps the world’s finest unannounced boat bread pâtissier). In reality, his craftsmanship resume is legions long. However, what is more important to portray here is the impeccable integrity, primal artistry, and unique imprint that he infuses into each of these expressions.

“The smartest person you’ve ever met that never went to school,” says his childhood best friend’s parents, Brian has always paved his own path to living a radically epic life experience. Beyond the borders and boundaries of conventional paradigms, Brian gets after it by following his innate intuition and honoring the wisdom of the elements. Surfing, spearfishing, sailing, kiting, cooking, conversing, converging and collaborating— this guy knows how to co-exist in high-definition harmony.

Sincerely,

Co-op Founding Members:

Sharing this voyaging life wouldn’t be possible without all of the amazing people who bring life to our voyage. Meet some of our Founding Members who were first to join the co-op.
